I also use it in my care as a "poor mans dash cam".Unfortunately, the sensor on my Brinno TLC 200 Pro failed during a year long project. While knocking a star isn’t fair when I knowingly got it with only 720, I knock it a bit because the clarity of the lens isn’t close to perfect. This was not thinkable in the past that I must carry heavy equipment with complicated procedures to take tons of pictures and then make it manually afterward.Almost cancelled it wondering “what did I need to time lapse?”, and glad I didn’t.However, I have had no problems until I went to retrieve six weeks of files today. It doesn’t help that the only mode it supports is to encode each frame into a video file, as opposed to being able to save a JPG or even RAW of some sort.Who wants to tie up an expensive camera and risk it getting damaged or “permanently relocated?” Brinno makes time lapse stupid easy.I love the built in tilt mechanism and super stable base.avi files the camera makes.I’ve done 2 tests at different settings so far and it works quite well! So it’s not 1080p.On paper, the Brinno sounds like a reasonable solution for a dedicated time lapse camera.I received the units very quickly. The resolution is fine for my work needs, it was actually better than I anticipated.Settings were: image every 10 seconds, video at 30 frames per second. As it took three nights before he arrived, the long battery life was an important factor.Bought 2 of these almost 1 year ago to record the construction of a new house.Among the improvements:First and most important, greatly improved picture quality, especially in high-contrast and low-light shots.I’ve been looking for some type of TL gear that is not too expensive to leave outdoors, as well as having good battery life and be able to inter-change lenses.Over the next two years, we will be assembling the cars.

Used it as a dash cam on a road trip and a also to do a timelapse of the sky in Utah. You can set interval time, it automatically take pictures and at the end it will convert it to a video! However The instruction is not very well written. The images are definitely not on par with a DSLR or even a newer iPhone.Video quality is good.I have extensive experience with IP surveillance cams and have previously used Sony video cams equipped with interval recording for time lapse applications.Years meaning the same cameras in the same or similar spots 24/7 and in fairly extreme winter/summer conditions. It has allowed me to get more into the art of time lapse. This camera is one of the coolest gadgets I’ve found in a long time. Not able to do smooth transitions in changing light from sunrise to sunset or when sun goes from-behind the clouds.Brinno builds quality products. It works for my needs at work and everyone loved the time lapses I did. This is a High Dynamic Range camera, not High Definition –something that was confusing to some reviewers. The fist order I placed for this camera did not work "SD Error".The lens is a little too wide angle, but that’s a very minor quibble. This camera shows the activity perfectly compared to the regular Brinno camera which would just record darkness.CON: The battery life is short.– Automatically creates a video file when timelapse is over, again making the process simple.Got this camera right before we went on vacation.

A very small light source near the bed is enough for this camera. Great battery life.My only complaints are that the stock lens has too wide an angle, and that the 60 hz filter could be a little better. Not sure I would recommend this, unless you don’t care about the quality too much.I purchased my TLC200 Pro two years ago .Very adjustable capture rates, but "Start" and "Stop" is about it.But realize it is not going to give you HIGH quality video and the lens choices are very limited. But focusing the lens is extremely hard, especially when you have to use it for close up objects.Once you figure out the menu system, there’s a lot of flexibility in the settings. Very nice way to do time lapse.first thing i did was record myself asleep.Same Camera you can get for much less money.– View screen is small with very bad pixel resolution to guide the user in focus the camera. After only two long term trials I am in love. The screen is really badly scratched.I also own a Brinno and have really enjoyed it, which I why I got this one for him.
